Gamifying Angels & Demons

How does your company help you in times of ethical dilemmas? Aristocrat Technologies India has a ‘Gamified Angel & Demon response pack’ for the same. This is available to the managers to share with their teams. A mini booklet is prepared with the examples of Angels and Demons responding to certain scenarios to distinctly bring out the difference between right and wrong behaviour. The story board is built around the Aristocrat Behaviours: Unite, Develop, Deliver and Play. It is indeed an interesting way to set standards of conduct among the employees!

Aristocrat Technologies has a practice of sending a few employees abroad every quarter to gain a live casino experience on the products built by their company. Selected employees from each department travel to Macau for a 3 day-2 night tour while staying in a 7-star hotel, and are given $700 to gamble on machines and games built by Aristocrat. This real-time understanding of the product cannot be replicated easily and seeks to cover 40-45 employees per year. Being a great development opportunity, the individual is acquiring practical knowledge of the business output while also gaining the experience of a lifetime.​

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Niche domain of Game Design has a limited opportunity for development in India as a market. These academic streams are also treated secondary by the education industry to promote vocational skills leading to limited talent pool availability.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
Inclusivity is the key to Aristocrat’s growth and success. Our policy framework is made keeping in mind equality for all. There is no differentiation in benefits coverage and policy implementation as per title, tenure, gender etc. To promote gender diversity, we have a specified guideline and benefits program to ensure 100% joining rate post maternity break.
