1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
It is keeping a close eye on upcoming and emerging trends in the way the employees and companies at large function. Today, the workplace landscape is constantly evolving and making way for newer, trending, and convenient ways to work. Many companies have adopted such flexible policies to keep the employees more engaged. After all, many studies have found that the most engaged employees (the ones who are fully invested in their jobs and committed to their employers) are significantly more productive, drive higher customer satisfaction and outperform those who are less engaged.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
They can be sure of two things: Growth and being heard.
• Growth: Providing opportunities for professional growth is one of the best ways to retain great talents. In an ideal work environment, individual growth is dependent on three elements – people, place, and processes - all three are closely knit. At Brigade, we believe that it is the adaptation of right and convenient processes by people while building innovative places that enable a positive work environment and growth opportunities. Also, having businesses in various verticals – residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality; the brand provides growth opportunity and experience across verticals.

• Being heard: Being in the industry for over three decades, the brand must be more thoughtful about cultivating and nurturing a positive culture which in turn leads to the development of the company at large. Our ‘Open door Policy’ is one of the most effective corporate initiatives that have led us to maintain a positive, uplifting, and motivating workplace culture. Accessibility of senior leadership is one of the key factors that has kept the air pragmatic.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
It usually the adaptation of newer and upcoming technologies. To upskill the people at work, we are committed to constantly arranging necessary workshops and training modules. As an organisation, we are all ears to the technological suggestions that can make the process faster, simpler, and easier.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
It is ‘equality’ and ‘respect’ attributes of Brigade’s work culture that has ensured a consistent workplace experience for all. ‘This is not an industry for women’, is the biggest myth that needs to be proven wrong. Having been in the construction industry, it was quite challenging to balance the men & women ratio. But with changing times, women are more open to explore their career in this industry. To provide more opportunity for women, we at Brigade have a dedicated ‘All Women Team’ for a few of our projects. As an organisation, we aim at building a safer workplace culture for women and carefully look at the safety aspects of all our employees.

At Brigade, respect doesn’t come with hierarchy, rather we believe in respecting everyone we interact and work with. Being respected is the key factor for any individual to perform consistently. Be it welcoming a new joinee, or seeing-off a customer/visitor, Brigadiers know it all about promoting a respectful work culture.

This long association with Great Place to Work® has truly been unreal. This in a way has helped us keep the air positive at work and be proud as Brigadiers.
