Cadence Onesies

To welcome babies into the Cadence family, they give new Cadence moms and dads adorable Cadence onesies. The onesies have the Cadence logo on the front and EDA and F1 on the back. EDA playfully stands for “Expert Diaper Authority,” rather than “Electronic Design Automation” for their industry, while F1 stands for “Future Innovator” in alignment with their focus on innovation under the High Performance Culture.

Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

The global Volunteer Time Off program enables employees around the world to take up to five business days of paid time off per calendar year to volunteer their time and talents to assist others in their community. In line with their mission, vision, and values, they encourage employees to use this program to give back in any way they choose – whether helping out at a school, charitable organization, or lending a hand when disaster strikes. Employees have volunteered 50,000 hours since the program was implemented.

We all treat the company like our own and this attribute is valued very strongly. The team works together, supporting each other to achieve our goals. The flexibility shown by the organization is returned by the employees in equal or more value.

Leaders Speak

Jaswinder Ahuja

Corporate VP & India Country Manager, Cadence Design Systems - India

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
In my view, a great workplace is the one that encourages employee growth and development while keeping a sharp focus on business results. In today’s times, an inward focus is as critical as the external landscape. For us, a strong leadership team that lives the values, together with a philosophy of transparency, honesty and care, has helped us build and nurture a culture that is positive and pervasive. At Cadence, trust, collaboration, respect for each other’s opinions and work, and diversity are not just buzz words – we put all of this into practice every day, in every geography where we do business. We call it “One Cadence-One Team” and all of us at Cadence embrace it from Day 1. Our commitment and passion to give back to the society through contributing to right causes is an essential part of our DNA. To me, all of this makes Cadence a great workplace.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
First of all, a great workplace spurs employees to give their best, and that has a direct business impact because happy employees go the extra mile to make our customers successful. It is a virtuous cycle because successful and happy customers encourage the team to continue innovating and giving their best. It all starts with the culture.

Second, a great workplace encourages original thinking, a problem-solving mindset and respect for each other’s views. This combination builds a fertile atmosphere for innovation, which is critical for a high tech company like Cadence. We believe that employees join Cadence because of our innovation and stay because of our culture.

3. What are your top people priorities?
Promoting and nurturing a high performing culture, and attracting & engaging talent are our key people priorities. Our high-performance culture attributes of exceeding customer expectations, elevating the team, exploring what’s possible and executing with quality help us create an environment for the best people in the industry to do great work every day.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
The Great Place to Work® assessment has been a great benchmark for us and has helped raise the bar for ourselves in terms of innovation, execution and customer success. It has provided valuable insights to fine-tune our people programs to reinforce our core values of innovation, excellence, and relentless execution.

Sunil Pathak

Group HR Director & Business Partner, Cadence Design Systems - India

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
Cadence has always taken pride in building a work culture that is people-centric, inclusive and diverse. People development is our key focus, and it is our constant endeavour to create a workplace which encourages and supports innovation, collaboration and skill development. Exceeding customer expectations, elevating the team, exploring what’s possible and executing with quality are the cornerstones of Cadence’s high-performance culture that create an environment for the best people in the industry to do great work every day.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
In my view, the people challenge in the hi-tech industry is multi-generational and multi-dimensional – attracting, engaging and managing expectations – are all key aspects of the people challenges which we are dealing with in our industry. The search for talent is intense as the skills are niche and with multiple domestic and global opportunities, the pool itself is limited.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
At Cadence, we strive to create an inspiring and consistent culture and employee experience for all our employees. We are committed to creating and nurturing a workplace which encourages Diversity and Inclusion as a strategic imperative and we consistently strive to have our people practises aligned to foster these aspects for both business success and for being a progressive employer. Our employees know they have a voice and that their opinion and feedback matters. Through support, trust, and stimulating environment, we ensure that success is possible “for all”.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Cadence has been participating in the Great Place to Work® survey for many years and each year participation has motivated us to raise the bar for ourselves as we learn from the best companies across industries. The responsibility which comes with the recognition of our standing as one of the great places to work in India has helped us to continuously review and innovate our people practices. We value our partnership with Great Place to Work® Institute and take a lot of pride in the acknowledgement we get being part of this study.
