Innovate Everywhere Challenge

Cisco has over the years launched the Innovate Everywhere challenge which is an opportunity for employees to propose a cool idea they believe can disrupt an existing trend & generate new possibilities. These ideas solve real-world challenges by connecting people, process, data and things. The winners of the Innovate Everywhere Challenge get a unique chance to incubate their venture, including receiving seed funding and the option to enter either a full- or a part-time, three-month innovation rotation program. Winners also receive a cash award with Cisco’s Connected Recognition program and a possibility to patent their idea.




To strengthen their approach to find the right talent for the right job and to give it a flavor of technology, they have introduced Belong, a machine learning powered search to surface the most relevant candidates and predict their openness to Cisco opportunities. It also enables them to automate personalize candidate engagement for great candidate experience

This is my 2nd inning at Cisco. It is like a 2nd home to me which I missed when I left it last time. It is difficult to describe it in words but overall culture is employee friendly.

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
Every company wants to create a workplace that’s interesting, engaging, and challenging. Personally, for me, the way to make it happen is to create a workplace which is high on emotional intelligence, a place that truly cares for its employees, communicates with transparency, where employees can do their job with confidence and where employees also have fun

A great workplace increases employee engagement and overall mental & physical health and wellbeing. In addition to this, positive work-cultures/places have a direct impact on company productivity.

Cisco is an organization with a heart. At Cisco, our focus is on building an empowering workplace with a conscious culture to be inclusive and innovative. Our policies enable employees to flourish in a lean organization with a winning attitude. A thriving people deal defines the culture that Cisco wants and needs to lead in our industry for big growth. We are strong believers in giving back to our community and caring for each other. And we do all of this… while having a lot of fun!

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
The biggest challenge today is talent activation. In our fast-paced growth mindset, aligning the strengths of our top talent to solving the challenges faced by companies is becoming a very relevant ask. Cisco is investing heavily in the future of work and is keen to provide our biggest asset, our people, with work that they are best suited to do while encouraging them to aim for excellence and further learning.
The development of the necessary skills and capabilities to sell, support, develop and help customers adopt technological innovation is critical to remain competitive and relevant. This includes our own relevance as a business.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
Cisco simply wants all employees to bring their true authentic selves to work every day. It is in our fibre to be inclusive in everything we do. Our various Employee Resource Organizations and networks provide like-minded employees to come together and function for the betterment of these demographics of employees
