Dare To Try

This initiative encouraged teams to undertake challenging problems beyond their regular project work. It was an opportunity for teams to engage with engineering problems that they would like to address and not limit themselves to immediate project deliverables. The only criterion that the team had to meet was to ensure that the problem statement qualified as a ‘Dare to Try’ exercise, which means, it had to be something which had not been attempted earlier by the team or something where there was little knowledge or existing solutions.



Developing First Time Managers

The Technical Track Policy at Forbes Marshall, a recognized great workplace supports the career progression of those members who are technical experts in their own domain but have limited people management skills. It was observed that many managers who are subject-matter experts after being promoted turned out to be extremely poor managers. This policy facilitates parallel-level progression in the hierarchy along with other people managers. The advantage of this is that members with excellent technical skills but limited people management skills have their own career plan and are not limited to only a few positions in the structure.

Top management is open to dialogue with employees and also receptive to ideas. There are forums for discussion between management and employees.
