This program is organized once every week wherein employees of Retail Sales & Collections nominate themselves to have a chat with Chief Operating Officer of Hero FinCorp. The call could be about sharing of any query, directly reporting a business concern or even sharing personal issues and gaining his insights.

The “Ivy League" is a leadership program for middle management at Hero FinCorp to make them business ready for future critical positions in the organization. A developmental journey to groom the league members, the program is an amalgamation of blended learning-both experiential and classroom. Aimed at creating future leaders by aligning the Hi-Po’s with business goals, putting them on fast track career progression and providing them with learning and exposure.

As a brand Hero Fincorp has also grown leaps and bounds and is now a well-known brand in the market. 1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
At HeroFinCorp, we foster a culture of togetherness, recognition, and learning. Everyone feels empowered. Our strong value system has always guided us to nurture, enable and equip our employees. The extraordinary ownership our employees show towards their work stems from the emotion of seeing themselves as a contributing member of one large family. We believe in valuing each member of our ‘Hero Parivaar’.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Finding skilled talent and employee retention is a challenge for our industry. Engaging young workforce and meeting their needs for recognition while they are learning the nuances of the job is crucial. In an industry like ours, it takes time to develop a risk management mindset and relationship building skills. This is an industry where one takes time to be successful. We at HeroFinCorp realize this and have planned interventions to support our employees right from when they join us. Our structured onboarding program engages employees from the beginning of their journey with us. Our learning programs consider training on behaviors as critical as on functional skills. We try to help employees gain develop skills and behaviors that would accelerate their movement to larger roles. We focus on coaching managers to become effective people managers and train them to handle a younger workforce. Our incentive, reward, and recognition programs recognize meritocracy and are tailored to cater to younger employees.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure, etc. in the organization?
We apply our values as a guiding lens to everything we do. Our policies and practices are guided by our values framework. This helps us act in a congruous way and favorably influence all touch points that we have with our employees and customers. The leadership team speaks the same narrative across and tries to be in different locations. We have a strong regional HR business team which ensures all policies and processes are understood and implemented uniformly across. We also regularly seek feedback from our employees through surveys, meetings, quarterly town halls on our policies and practices and work towards implementing suggestions. Our values unite us and guide us like a compass to our purpose and to the bigger picture.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Great Place to Work® has been our partner in our mission to make HeroFinCorp a workplace where employees thrive and feel emotionally connected to us. We recognize the fact that our employees’ ability to function to the best of their potential is subject to the environment they work in. The survey results provide insights at various levels which help us in effective action planning. Also, we get to benchmark ourselves against different organizations in similar ecosystems and remain relevant in what we do. From a business standpoint, continuous engagement provokes thoughts which results in better business results. Also seeing their feedback being acted upon instills a sense of pride in employees.
