1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
As the CEO of the company, I try to ensure that the company has a clear vision and objective so that everybody is aligned in the same direction. I encourage open communication, appreciate honest feedback through initiatives such as CEO Connect. I also believe in having honest leaders. I believe in delivering praise and recognition often to employees, greeting them on their anniversaries, birthdays and remembering these days makes a big difference to employees. The personal connection is very important. Work-life balance is a priority and all employees should take leaves, spend time with their families and in turn enjoy what they do.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
Creating a great workplace brings immense benefits, most importantly, it helps create a high-performance work culture and generates a sense of pride amongst the employees creating Hikal brand ambassadors.

3. What are your top people priorities?
Creating a culture of learning and creating future leaders are our top people priorities.

Our association with Great Place to Work® has definitely played an important role in building Hikal’s Brand Value Proposition in the market. It has helped attract the right talent in the industry. 1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
At Hikal, culture is the reflection of core values in practice. People have the freedom to experiment at work and bring their entrepreneurship to the fore. Get rewarded and recognized for achievements and the efforts put in. People can rest assured of fairness, transparency and rewarding experience.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Pharma is facing a huge challenge of availability of right talent. That’s hitting the productivity, efficiency and cost. War for talent is adding to the attrition rate and raising the compensation level.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
Creating the “Hikal Experience” for every Hikalite irrespective of their role, level, function, gender or tenure is the baseline. Respect for all as a human being first. Hikal’s core values & culture pillars facilitate every Hikalite to be a good citizen and a nice human being. Learning and rewarding practices are completely meant for everyone.
