Listening - Upward Communication

Office Mavens

In order to provide additional forums to diverse groups, they have developed the Office Mavens program for women employees. Senior women team members have volunteered to shoulder the responsibility of being Office Mavens, across seven cities and select client sites to lend a helpful ear to the concerns which women have in their day-to-day work and offer advice. This is a unique system which enables empathetic listening and helps female employees take empowered decisions. This is a part of their larger program to bolster gender diversity.

A great workplace for me is about facilitating ideas and energies. I believe this is possible if we invest in creative spaces and present new opportunities for our people.

I am personally involved in ensuring that we create an environment that fosters a sense of community and nurtures well-being at the workplace. My endeavour is to create an environment that keeps our people enthusiastic and helps them constantly evolve.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Like all industries undergoing a transformation, the challenges faced by our industry are around talent and keeping the talent skilled. Focus is on bringing the right talent, at a speed that matches industry growth, and to ensure that we keep the talent relevant as the industry gets impacted with evolutions in technology and changing client needs.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
Diversity & Inclusion form the core of everything we do and hence, we create an environment where everyone is included and with their ideas being welcomed. Workplace diversity is not just a tick in the box but a business priority. We embrace Gender, Geography and Generation diversity and with them, diverse perspectives and capabilities. As we succeed through inclusion, some of the key initiatives through which we have increased inclusion encompass - Unconscious bias workshops/training for all employees, Gradual return to work policy, Flexi hours, Mentorship programs, Mavens/support group initiative, in-office ‘Babyterias’, Crèche facilities etc. And I’d say this is only the beginning!

We also celebrate our people and we celebrate with them. Mutual appreciation and gratitude is not just a habit but a culture that percolates top down.
