Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. organizes complimentary music coaching classes for all employees during office hours - from 4 to 7 pm every Wednesday. Guitar, Vocal and Keyboard coaching is provided to interested employees and employees are encouraged to perform during cultural activities. This initiative not only aids their recreational mindset but also provides a safe platform to showcase their talent and gain confidence. This program has impacted employees well-being by effecting positive changes in mood and emotional states, improving concentration and attention span and providing an opportunity for employees to relax and de-stress.

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
I firmly believe in honouring the dignity of every individual and being appreciative of their perspective. The Management of Mahindra Finance is highly approachable and constantly keeps exploring opportunities to speak to our employees, thereby gaining their trust and keeping them bonded like a family. While empowering the employees tremendously, we also nurture a culture of healthy critiquing to ensure rational outcomes. We believe in a widespread and deeper approach in all our initiatives keeping in mind the diverse employee requirements across the demographics.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
1. The energies resonating with the Great Place to Work title are highly contagious in our organization. We have witnessed a huge zeal amongst employees which further cascades to the stakeholders they interact with.

2. There is a winning spirit amongst everyone, employees have collaborated to ensure we all win as a team. Being a Great place to work fosters the pride quotient in our employees which keeps them engaged. This healthy competition brings a common purpose to sustain the Great Place to Work Title.

3. What are your top people priorities?
Talent is crucial to our business hence our efforts are concentrated in attracting the relevant talent and keeping them employable at all times. With the recent organizational restructuring, our focus is on building a higher degree of Talent agility which will be more stakeholder-centric. Secondly, our focus is also inclined towards leadership transitioning by grooming the successors to take up leadership roles for Mahindra Finance.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Firstly, we serve a diverse demographics of customers with unfavourable business contingencies which requires a high level of commitment and persuasion in bringing a closure.

Secondly, Talent today has a lot of opportunities in the BFSI sector and they are very prone to instability, this poses a challenge in retaining the best in class talent. We have to keep on reinventing the wheel to ensure the talent is engaged.
Thirdly, Millennials today have a lot of different expectation from the workplace than what the conventional organisations can provide. We have to be adaptable and innovate with the latest trends to attract this pool of talent and unleash their potential.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
Mahindra Finance is certified as a PCMM level 5 organisation, which assures a high degree of predictability in HR service delivery to our stakeholders. We have also evolved into an HR business partner-centric organisational structure from the previously geography centred structure. This has brought in a lot of consistency in our approach coupled with strategic partnering. The organisation has developed a holistic approach in policy formulation and action planning which takes into consideration the interest of all the employees across demographics. Furthermore, the organization is also bound by a central theme of 'Rise' culture and Inclusivity which ensures each individual is treated with the utmost dignity and experiences the amicable culture of Mahindra Finance.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Great Place to Work® has given us a good navigation compass on which direction are we heading, what could be the course corrections. It has helped us leverage our best practices and concentrate our efforts in sustaining the same. On the other hand, the findings have also given us a perspective which will enable strategic business partnership.
