Values Based Assessment - Hiring with a Difference

This year Max Life has introduced another process improvement in its acquisition practice under the umbrella of “Hiring with a Difference”. The purpose of “Hiring with a Difference” is to move away from evaluating people against jobs towards evaluating them for their work capabilities, potential and the Values they believe in and accordingly allocate roles to them. With this programme, our objective is to inculcate ‘Values’ right at the beginning of our employee related processes, so that, even the prospective candidates are made well aware of what we seek in them. We have collaborated with trusted providers in this area like Mettl-Mercer, SHL and PMAPS.

At Max Life, employees share their stories and acts which have impacted lives, which are further shared with everyone as an inspirational effort. 1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
I truly believe in the unparalleled power of a work environment that is diverse and transparent, one that ensures equal opportunity for growth of all employees and helps nurture the leaders of the future. A great workplace is one that has the greater interest of its people at heart. Therefore, an ability to add meaningful impact and positively influence the lives of our employees, not just in the professional domain but also in their lives, forms the foundation of my personal approach to building a qualitative workplace.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
Firstly, a great workplace is important for it helps form a rock-solid base for a values-driven culture to thrive. Secondly, in addition to empowering employees in an ecosystem that weighs meritocracy over hierarchy, a great workplace helps add value to the professional aspirations of the larger workforce, building efficient teams and above all steering the larger people agenda, from the top.

3. What are your top people priorities?
Our people priorities are driven mainly by our company credo of “Attract, motivate, reward, and retain”. In order to build the best human capital, we strongly partner with supervisors in anchoring people agenda at all levels of the organization, heightened capabilities on the back of new age recruitment trends and insights but it is our culture of ‘Caring’ that continues to leverage our relationship with our employees the most. Last year we celebrated more than 450 employees’ longstanding association with our company upon them having finished a decade of service. We hope to continue our commitment to fostering an atmosphere of similar warmth and love with our employees through each one of our initiatives.
