Get into the Groove

Radio City’s Mentor-Mentee Project helps the Management Trainees (MT) to settle in the culture through a 10-day people orientation project. Every MT is handheld by a Mentor and guided on culture fitment, expectations, and supported in the project which is woven around Radio City’s values. At the end of the 10-day period, MTs make presentations to the CEO and Senior Management and the best ones are duly awarded as well as rewarded. The process helps the MTs get acquainted to the culture fast and gets them going on their performance path.



RC Offline Day

RC offline day is an initiative aiming to provide Work-Life Balance. On the achievement of the Revenue Target of the station, the RC offline day is announced for all the employees of the particular station wherein they can leave two hours early from their work hour.

The good thing about this company is that they give time to each employee to understand the system, learn the basics and they help them learn the job role and give tools to excel at it.

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace? Radio City focuses on hiring the right talent and nurturing them to excel in whatever they do. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace? Radio City’s strength has always been its loyal employees. The average employee tenure of over 5 years is a testament to the fact that employees are committed to the organization. This ensures a surge in their growth and learning curve and helps in increasing productivity both at an individual and organizational level. Another great benefit is that we attract the right talent, build strong and consistent teams that thrive on innovation and creativity, which further help us perform well and grow in the ever-changing radio industry. 3. What are your top people priorities? Radio City always had followed an employee inclusive culture and believes in harbouring a transparent work environment. We provide open communication channels and encourage employees to share their suggestions with us. To facilitate communication amongst employees and management, programs such as Townhall, Live Chat with CEO, HR Buddy, Intranet Helpdesk, Mr Fixit, RC Vibe, etc. are held regularly. Secondly, Radio City firmly believes in recognizing good work done by our employees and duly rewarding them. Awards and recognition programs like City ka Sitara, Star of the Month, Sher of the Month, Cheers to Peers, CEO Award, Golden Arches, etc., act as incentives for the employees to work towards achieving their goals. 4. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing? Radio being an entertainment industry attracts a lot of young talent. 79% of RC workforce is millennial. Speaking from a human resource management perspective, there has been a significant shift in the approach towards managing their aspiration, learning and growth. We have to continuously find innovative ways to keep these employees engaged and motivated while retaining their focus on organization goals. 3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization? Our company culture truly defines us and the work that we do. Establishing such an organizational culture has taken us several years and effort from all the Radio Cityzens and their leaders. Our Organisation values guide us to ensure a culture of transparency, fairness and strong people connect. Our policies and processes which are well thought through and clearly defined ensure fair treatment to all when it comes to their personal requirement or rewards & recognition. 4. Our journey of 8 years with Great Place to Work® has enabled us to build a work culture that fosters innovation, learning, respect and camaraderie.
