This is an initiative where they schedule random one on ones with the team members and discuss about the various aspects. Employees are also made aware of this option of approaching their People Partner anytime when they are in need of guidance. The HRBP also works on the Culture survey feedbacks and ratings and accordingly conduct Focus Group Discussions with different teams at a skip level and converse further on the metrics and feedbacks received.

Webscale Women is a Nutanix community based program, embedded in Engineering and designed to connect and support the women at Nutanix across the globe. As part of the Webscale Women charter, this popular program hosts interesting and topical monthly events, comprised of professional development training opportunities, life skills education and social events. Some of the recent events hosted a special guest ‘Pia Betton’, the Leader of our Design team from Berlin, Germany. Pia presented HERstory, a regular feature at the networking breakfast where female executives share their career journey and advice to local women.

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
A great work environment is one which embodies and amplifies a sense of purpose and curiosity amongst team members. Collaborative conversations should take place naturally and should not be bound by levels or designations – they should flow with the goal of solving complex problems with collective inputs across stakeholders.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
The two benefits I see are:
(1) A greater sense of purpose and ownership – team members identify themselves as stakeholders in driving outcomes and not just as employees; and
(2) Higher velocity in delivering solutions to the market.

These collectively enable companies to maintain a competitive advantage in their respective segments.

3. What are your top people priorities?
Three of our four strategic initiatives in India are aligned to people. They are:
(1) Great Minds
(2) Diversity and Inclusiveness (beyond just gender)
(3) Imbibing Innovation (which is an outcome of the 1st and the 2nd)

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
The Great Place to Work initiative has helped us both introspect as well as capture the DNA of our organization as part of Nutanix being part of this journey. This reflection has enabled us to continue to make Nutanix one of the best places to work for our team members not only in India but certainly globally as well.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
Irrespective of the company growing 10-year old, we always maintained the startup culture at Nutanix. Everyone is a stakeholder at the company and that empowers every employee to have a say in any decision. The employee at Nutanix always has the autonomy to work in the way they would want, take decisions at their work level, drive new initiatives and contribute to the overall vision of the company.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Getting the best talent is the major challenge. The millennials especially have a different expectation about the company culture and career progression. We need to satiate their expectations and accomplish through them the vision of the company while we get some fresh mindset at work.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
We take pride in being a very transparent company. We collect feedback on an on-going basis and our leadership do not shy away from critics. Our CEO believes in being vulnerable and putting ourselves in front of our employees, be it to share the success or shortfalls. We have constant All Hands with our CEO globally and the messaging is provided to all employees equally at the same time.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Great Place to Work® has helped us in knowing where we stand as of today in terms of being a Company which Employees love to be associated with. Not just in ranking but also in terms of the great enthusiasm, pride and camaraderie our employees showed in supporting the Company’s journey to be in the best places to work list. This helps us align internally & externally to provide best in class experience for our employees.
