1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
There is no doubt that Human Capital aligned with information capital and organisational capital can build any great organisation. When it comes to employees, the experience of POWERGRID has proved that organisation pride and employee prides are key elements in creating a great workplace and a significant part of these two elements seldom come from size of the pay, perks, other workplace amenities peripheral to the content of the job but largely it depends on the size of the challenge for the individual, team and the organisation and size of the value and quality of the experience that it creates in the lives of a nation.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
Our employees especially those who have commissioned big projects in a remote corner of India like Kargil, Leh, Ladakh, etc. take great pride for recognition of their sacrifice in challenging conditions.

3. What are your top people priorities?
It has always been the top people priorities of POWERGRID management to improve the quality of work life including the career, financial, social, physical, community wellbeing of employees to a new high.

The result of the Great Place to Work® survey has helped us to find out where to focus disproportionately to improve the overall employee experience and employee wellbeing.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
As we work in very high voltage and highly capital intensive projects with an annual capitalisation of approx. Rs. 24000 crore, therefore POWERGRID has always attracted talent who wants to learn big, do big and think big with a larger purpose beyond themselves.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Sharing the service in rotation for difficult locations is the key people challenge for POWERGRID.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
We have devised differential packages for employees contributing to difficult locations. Also, we have undertaken special interventions to empower women employees in the workplace. Besides these beyond statutory compliance, we have developed special interventions to empower employees belonging to the reserved category including disabled employees and also employees of our vendors.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Based on the feedback of employees in the Great Place to Work® survey, we have redesigned many HR interventions in the areas of career and growth, employee benefits, employee performance management.
