Karva Chauth Celebrations

Most women fear this day as they have to fast the whole day long and work too, but at Centum Learning Limited, decided to take away this pain and in turn convert it into a happy memory by inviting ‘Mehendi’ designers to put henna and all women employees got it done. Not only this, but they also gave a half day leave to the employees, so they could go home and celebrate this day with their spouses.

The CEO of Centum Learning Limited sends ‘Thank you’ cards to the families of those employees who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. 1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace? 
We firmly believe that great things can be accomplished if employees bring in their best to the workplace. This happens largely when they are aligned to organizational goals as it ensures job satisfaction. For Centum, therefore, an ideal employee is not one who is solely driven by financial rewards, instead of someone who shares our organizational mission of increasing business productivity and enhancing overall employability in the country.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
I personally hold that there is a direct connection between a satisfied workforce and an organization’s long-term success because dissatisfied employees are unlikely to satisfy clients, which in turn, impacts business adversely. I also believe that satisfied employees tend to speak well about their Company and the services it offers, making them natural brand-ambassadors, which is truly a great advantage for the space we operate in.

3. What are your top people priorities? 
In terms of our priorities, I have already mentioned that we actively look for people whose personal goals and value systems are in sync with our organizational vision. Apart from that we also have a well-defined coaching and mentoring framework which focuses on building critical skills and cohesive teams. We are also consciously building a vibrant and participative work culture that looks beyond day-to-day duties and work schedules to engage employees at various different levels including soliciting their ideas for making strategic business decisions. Finally, we are trying to leverage technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of employees across the organization. Some of the technology-enabled engagement tools we are currently using include a bot and AI-powered assessments, apart from our very own smart learning platform - Centum LearnPro®.

Our association with Great Place to Work® has been truly inspiring - being ranked with some of India’s best workplaces instils a sense of pride in all of us at Centum.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
As an organization, we follow an open-door policy; our employees are free to approach or meet our senior leadership to share concerns, ask questions or even give feedback. In addition, our CEO and his leadership team hold regular town-halls where employees are updated about business results and new initiatives. We are also committed to providing a healthy work environment and improving the overall work-life balance of our employees. With this end in mind, we organize regular health check-ups, health-related talks, and sports activities for all our employees ensuring their physical well-being is taken care of. We also provide flexible work timings to employees who have family exigencies and encourage all employees to mandatorily avail at least half of their annual leave entitlement in order to maintain a good work-life balance. Apart from these and other initiatives, we agree with a recent study according to which 94% of employees would stay longer in a Company which invests in their career development. We, therefore, provide ample learning and development opportunities to our employees. 

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Keeping our trainers abreast of the latest information in their respective fields is one of our primary challenges. However, we overcome this to a very large extent with the help of our periodic boot-camps which are extremely intensive in nature and by using our very own smart learning platform - Centum LearnPro® to update our trainers on a real-time basis. 

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure, etc. in the organization? 
Our learning and development specialists work both with the government as well as large corporate houses, delivering strategic training interventions in different languages, at a variety of locations and in different time-zones. The only constant for this diverse population is a smart technology solution that caters to their own learning needs. With over twelve years of global L&D expertise, Centum LearnPro® - our smart Learning eXperience Platform (LXP) delivers a personalized learning experience which goes well beyond a standard learning management system by integrating all four training delivery modes i.e. self-paced training, classroom training, live virtual training & MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), that can be delivered across multiple devices through online and offline modes with ease.
