Inorbit Malls (India) Pvt. Ltd. is recognized among India's Great Mid-size Workplaces 2019 and among India's Best Workplaces for Women 2019 (Top 75). Every year, Great Place to Work® identifies India's 50 Great Mid-size Workplaces (with employee strength of 100 to 500) through an objective and rigorous workplace culture assessment process. As a part of our annual research in India, this year a total of 747 organizations were evaluated and from them, we identified India’s 75 Best Workplaces for Women 2019.

Inorbit Malls (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of the K.Raheja Corporation pioneered the mall culture in India when it opened its first mall to the public in early 2004 in Malad, Mumbai. Inorbit Malls today has a national presence with 5 operating Malls covering over 31 lac sqft, employing over 200 direct employees and several thousands of indirect staff, 350 key retail brand partners and over 35 lac monthly footfalls.

Parichay

Parichay, as the name suggests is the introduction phase of the employee within the company. To ensure a smooth transition into the new role, the reporting manager and the Hr sPoc identify the BuDDY to new joinee. The buddy is expected to take over being the pal, who helps the colleague settle into the organization. The role remains for a 3-month window. at the end of the three months Buddy Programme, the Hr sPoc will get the Buddy review form filled by the new employee. The brief questionnaire is aimed at ensuring continuous enhancement of the Buddy Program. The questionnaire has to be filled by the new employee and returned to the Hr sPoc within 7 days of its receipt. each quarter the best buddy is rewarded under flagship program ‘Hi5!’ basis feedback from the new recruit.

Inorbit Pink Power

Inorbit Pink Power is a startup launcher initiative which helps women extend their business in shopping malls. This gives them a chance to try/test their business by utilizing free retail space provided by the mall for a period of  5 months. This campaign was extended not only to women across the city but to Inorbit Women Employees as well.     

The managers I work with are supportive and they look forward for overall development of their subordinates which is a rare quality in today’s corporate culture.

Inorbit promotes organic growth and we are proud to have created leaders with various skillsets at all levels of our organization. The two key benefits would be: • We provide a workplace where teams are encouraged to seek various career opportunities within the organization, gain valuable work experience, enhance their competencies which in turn increases job satisfaction. • Building a great workplace we have been able to instill credibility, respect, and fairness amongst the team which goes a long way in overall productivity.

3. What are your top people priorities? 
Continuous Focus on Talent Management: To hone skills and create a talent pool within the Company, while strengthening current and future leadership pipeline. Fortify Pride of Association: We want to continue to improve the employee experience in their end to end journey (create the WOW factor) which inspires employees to feel that their work has more meaning than being just another job. By designing programs to reinforce our company´s values and vision. Our employees are the reason the brand is what it is, and so we endeavor to fortify the already existing pride of association. Other focus includes the improvement of Gender Diversity Ratio and Performance Measurement Metrics.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
 Inorbit believes in a performance-driven open culture, where ideas are encouraged, effort and output are recognized, and talent is organically grown and developed within the organization. We are a fast-paced, young and energetic workplace with a focus on continuous improvement. 

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Low work-life balance and the threat of poaching are two of the biggest people challenge in our industry. Also creating a complete customer-centric approach at all levels calls for a lot of coaching and mentoring. 

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure, etc. in the organization? 
At Inorbit Mall, we do not discriminate and have meticulously studied best practices from across industries, tailoring the best to suit us, along with creating some of our own. Imprint - employees are congregated for a focused group discussion where employees are encouraged to share feedback on experience since joining, clarity on the profile, team and colleague support, snag-free settling down the process – IT/Admin arrangements, and feedback - best practices from their previous experiences that they would want to recommend. The session opens with an ice-breaker, where employees are quizzed on how familiar they are on the organization e.g. vision, values, logos, competing brands, group brands, etc. #UniqueTitles: Many of us use titles that sound like we're boring or not that creative. Creative job designation is perceived as having a work culture that is fun and innovative. As an Inorbitian, we can choose our own creative designation with which we want people to know us. Inorbit believed in breaking the stereotype of designations which is a way to foster a more stimulating work environment. Choose the perfect customized desk nameplate that best represents your position and personality. Townhall: Town Halls are hosted every month, which starts with business updates, a glimpse of marketing events, market insights, motivational video followed by a message from the CEO, addressing to questions which come through MyVoice, #MyGreatWorkPlace, Quiz, Quick Games followed by Birthday Celebrations for the month. We offer special policies and unique Benefits in areas of Wellness, like Flexi work hours, 5 days working across the organization (which is rare in the shopping malls industry) and much more. 

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals? 
Being featured in India’s Great Mid-Size Workplaces 2019 for two consecutive this is the 2nd time has instilled credibility amongst the teams. As a result of this survey, we have created and launched several new initiates along the way which has helped strengthen our Talent Strategy initiatives and achieve business growth. We feel great pride in being featured amongst India’s Great Mid-size Workplaces 2019. The teams strive even harder each year to bring in innovations and best practices at work, which is a win-win for all. The survey throws some interesting insights, which have helped us strengthen our talent strategy and approach.
