Make A Difference (MAD) is a youth-driven, non-profit organisation working to ensure better outcomes for vulnerable children in shelters across India. Their vision is that even the most vulnerable children in shelters are able to realize long-term outcomes equitable with the middle class. Registered as a non-profit in 2006, MAD reaches out to over 3500 youth in 65 shelters across 23 cities in India, through a highly efficient 3000 strong volunteer network.

Make a Difference, engages with part-time employees, through a year-long development program called the ‘growth Project’. under this program, part-time employees are mentored by full-time employees, who help them create a detailed competency plan based on an individual’s aspirations and skill-set.
At Make a Difference, interested employees have signed up to baby sit for their colleagues’ children as and when required. This support group ensures that the young parents get respite from their routine, while the children are in safe hands.
The level of empathy that my colleagues and the management show towards each other is unparalleled. It translates into our work and genuinely feels like we are making a difference. MAD inspires you, for a lifetime's worth. The work, the people and the cause.
This organisation has been like a family to me for the last 5 years. And the amount of patience, understanding, and love, each person has to give is astounding. There is genuine care in this organisation, and we're allowed to be ourselves. I have never felt judged, and have always been encouraged to take ownership. The bond is so strong that I know I have a home to stay in at least 23 cities in the country.
