SAS Sleep Transformation Program cultivates a workplace wellness culture that encourages employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The program consists of a two-week education phase, followed by the implementation phase. The focus has been to educate employees on topics such as Mindfulness strategies, Stress Management, foods that impair and promote sleep. With the help of an online Sleep Transformation Community and a sleep journal to record progress, employees are motivated to take proactive steps towards improving their mental & physical wellbeing.
Town halls play a vital role in providing employees with information and strategic direction, building culture, and offer an opportunity to connect personally with the executive team. A format that usually relies on one-way communication from executives to employees. However, at SAS Research & Development rather than following the usual route, a bottom-up or inverted pyramid approach is implemented where no manager would present the highlights and achievements. Each town hall employees enthusiastically get together to present team updates in the most creative manner - from hosting talk shows to interesting Bollywood skits, thus breaking the monotony by creatively engaging the workforce.
The kind of encouragement and support provided by SAS for innovation is exemplary, we get to learn new technologies and smart way to achieve our core tasks along with a flexibility to own them. It manages a perfect balance between innovation, work-life, product delivery and career development. I personally participated in more than 3 out of the box initiative in last one year, it really helped me learn new technologies without investing any of my personal time.
The push that our organisation give to us to balance our professional and personal life is something I really appreciate. There are a lot of unique things and services provided for eg: the recreation programs, the fitness programs (yoga) and what not. The uniqueness about it, is it really cares what employees want and work with them to achieve it.
