Aapki Baari

The Aapki Baari sessions at Silver Arrows Automobiles is an initiative to invite suggestions from employees where they interact with the MD & CEO presenting them suggestions. The MD then shares the implementation plan with the Silver Arrows Executive Leadership Team along with the defined responsibility of each member as per their area of implementation. Each participant is thanked for their suggestion along with the timeline mentioned for implementation. The individual whose suggestion has given the best business results is also awarded in their Annual Strategy Meet.

Mercedes-Benz Training & Certification

Mercedes-Benz India provides certification programs for Sales and Customer Service to employees at Silver Arrow Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. These programs are fully sponsored by the organization, and employees are nominated basis their performance and internal examination scores. These Certifications are also linked to promotions and salary increments through ways of rewards and recognition.

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
Thriving workplace culture and that culture grouped with a strong vision, is usually, what makes a great place to work. Also, I personally believe that if the best people produce the best results then the best workplaces produce the best people. So we are constantly pushing towards creating a thriving workplace and we almost have to never worry about results because they automatically come by.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace? 
I think that a Great Workplace creates highly passionate and collaborative team members who perform to their best capabilities and treat their work as a home and not just a 9 to 5 routine and working with people who are equally passionate is always a dream come true. Secondly, A Great Workplace attracts the type of talent that is willing to commit themselves to the organization rather than treating it as just a stepping-stone in their career. Therefore, happy people produce happy results and attract more happy people in the organization. In summary, we get happy employees and happier customers.

3. What are your top people priorities?
A strong workforce with a strong vision and an optimized plan is what sets us apart in the industry. We focus on identifying the right People and on planning the right career paths and development plans for them. Leadership is something we expect from all our team members, whether or not they have people-management responsibilities or direct reports. We start teaching this principle and the relevant leadership skills during the orientation of new hires so that our values are clear from the beginning.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Our vision has always been to become the most preferred luxury automobile retailer in India and it is well-rooted from within the organization. ‘Great Place to Work®’ certification brings us one step closer to achieving our vision through recognition as a ‘Preferred Employer’ for our existing workforce as well as potential team members. 2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Retaining top talent and giving them their unique career path to keep them constantly engaged and motivated is the topmost priority in the automobile industry. Talent generally loses direction and remains stuck in the same role for the most part of their career if not developed to utilize their true potential.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure, etc. in the organization?
The key to consistency is to encourage the team to keep sharing their suggestions and views on the organization’s development areas. Our unique programs that connect the team directly with the Top Management contribute as the litmus test of our existing culture.
