1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace? 
Since the day we founded Vestige 15 years ago, I’ve been focusing on making this organization a place where everyone is bonded well and shares the company’s values and vision at a personal level. By ensuring all employees, irrespective of their position in the hierarchy, acquire a sense of belongingness with the organization, I have been trying to ensure that they love to come to the office each morning and take up each challenge that their job throws before them as not as a compulsion but something as a personal assignment. I’ve so far maintained a cordial and very friendly and approachable relationship with as many employees as possible and have always considered them a part of one big family. Our doors have remained open for all employees and they have been walking up to us with all their issues, views, etc. In the last 15 years, we have not just built a robust business but also built relationships - with each stakeholder associated with us. 

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
I can see two benefits from two different perspectives. As the captain of the ship, I see a Great Workplace makes Vestige a renowned name for those skilled resources seeking an opportunity to have a robust career and growth. We will be definitely attracting better talent than before, nurture and grow them to a higher level and make significant progress in expanding our business. At the same time, I also see this as a factor that stimulates the happiness and motivation level of everyone around us. We take pride in the fact that Vestige is a Great Workplace and try hard to retain this title which will continue to create and sustain great workplace experience for all.

3. What are your top people priorities?
To be honest, I have a long list of people's priorities. If I number them and put the top three of them, then they will be: Firstly, I want to see my people more skilled at work. We are living in a world of cut-throat competition where new technologies and outlooks are changing the way we work. It’s imperative that as an organization we empower our employees with new skills, learning opportunities and help them adapt to new technologies so that we not only remain relevant but also continue to excel. Secondly, I, along with my management team, always ensure that our people get due recognition for their work. That they feel valued, and moreover they see that they have a say in day to day decision making. The last thing we want is an employee with low morale. You see, keeping your people happy and energetic will always keep the organization vibrant, healthy and happy. Thirdly, I am always keen to see greater employee engagement. Over the years I have learned that keeping employees engaged with their work leads to great things. The employees are the backbone of Vestige and are integral to each and every success we have achieved so far. A satisfied employee is a productive employee and I strive to maintain the positive work environment we have at Vestige.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals? 
Our association with Great Place to Work® has helped us improve our brand visibility as well as our business value. These factors help us attract new customers as well as potential employees. Both current and potential employees now have an increased awareness of our great company culture. From a business standpoint, employees happy with their job are energetic at work and always motivated to do their best. Efficient work comes from a higher engagement level and an intrinsic desire to excel in one’s job. I encourage my employees to build their skills and offer them opportunities to learn and grow. I believe that the happiness quotient of our employees directly correlates to the success of our organization.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
The foundation of any organization is its people and we at Vestige believe in that strongly. We emphasize investing in people and nurturing them by providing an environment that they love and feel comfortable living and growing in. Transcending the pre-set notions of best company policies and benefits, Vestige provides a workplace where the employees find their work satisfying. This is due to the unique culture the company has developed: Firstly, there is a mutual trust between the management and the employees. This leads to an open atmosphere where everyone in the organization has faith in the company’s vision, mission & values. This provides incessant motivation for the employees to achieve greater levels of success. The autonomy for work without interference and fear of questioning encourages the culture of collaboration and creativity, where employees feel free to provide their inputs and find their opinion valued. Secondly, the people of Vestige at all levels take pride in what they do. They look forward to their work and it empowers them with the freedom to cultivate innovative practices in executing their duties. This practice enriches the organization and makes its business grow manifold, which is evident from the spectacular CAGR of 79% which Vestige has achieved over the years. Finally, the people of Vestige are close-knitted, which ensures that they love working with each other and are comfortable with their colleagues and the shared workplace. This bond emerges from a culture of togetherness, equality, and respect, which spurs Vestige employees to contribute immensely to the growth of the organization. 2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
Attracting talent, especially quality talent, is a major challenge that the direct selling industry is currently facing. To counter this, we should continuously strive to build an impressive employer brand by focusing on developing competitive compensation and reward strategy, monetary and non-monetary benefits and also by developing an environment that provides challenging assignments to foster learning along with fast track career development opportunities. We should also focus on developing the talent management skills of managers across the organization and help them manage their teams effectively.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure, etc. in the organization?
With the aim of ensuring a higher engagement level and love in employees towards the organization and the work, we have always followed a fair, just and open work environment for all of our staff irrespective of the hierarchy, tenure, age, gender, etc. For example, in our office parties or off-sites, we ensure that No-one is left out from the celebration – be it from Head Office or from our Branches in each state and we use such opportunities to create cross-departmental team bonding. In our festive celebrations, we engage “all team members”, irrespective of demographic differences, in planning, designing, executing some of the most creative programs. We offer the same Sodexo meal cards with the same amount throughout the organization without any difference with respect to grades-designations; similarly, we follow the same birthday celebration pattern for all employees. Our suggestions scheme provides equal opportunity for each employee to voice their opinion about the organization or their workplace and add value to the work culture. I believe, if you’ve a really open and transparent organizational culture, where you work with your passion invested in your role, then the organization transcends all petty boundaries and truly becomes a happy place for everyone.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Aside from enhancing our brand, becoming a Great Place to Work® has given our employees greater confidence in Vestige. It is a mark of our commitment to our employees and we expect to maintain our high employee retention rate.
