India's Best Workplaces in Retail 2019

Every year, more than 10,000 organizations from over 58 countries partner Great Place to Work® Institute for assessment, benchmarking and planning actions to strengthen their workplace culture. Great Place to Work® Institute’s methodology is recognized as rigorous and objective and is considered as the gold standard for defining great workplaces across business, academia and government organizations.

Great Place to Work® Institute invites applications from Retail organizations to be assessed and evaluated for being considered among ‘India’s Best Workplaces in Retail’ study. This year 30 organizations applied for the assessment and the institute conducted a rigorous assessment to understand their workplace culture and identify the 10 best in the sector. As part of this assessment, the organizations are studied through two lenses. The first lens measures the quality of employee experience through our globally validated survey instrument known as Trust Index©. The survey helps in seeking anonymous feedback from employees and carries 2/3rd weightage. The second lens is called Culture Audit©, which is a proprietary tool of the Institute that evaluates the quality of people practices of an organization, covering the entire employee life-cycle. This carries 1/3rd weightage. The Institute undertakes a robust validation process on the data gathered through the assessment process and also validates that the organization is a ‘Great Place to Work for All’ i.e all employees irrespective of their age, tenure, role, gender etc. in the organization are having a consistent experience in the organization. The cumulative score of Trust Index© and Culture Audit© determines an organization’s inclusion in India’s Best Workplaces: Retail 2019. No individual or jury has a say in who makes it to the list – only employee feedback and quality of people practice determine if an organization is a great workplace. These are being published in alphabetical order.

Getting Great Place to Work – Certified™ is the 1st step to creating a Great Workplace Culture

Great Place to Work® Certification is the most definitive ‘Employer-of-Choice’ and Workplace quality recognition that any organization can receive. Your organization will be assessed in two parts – employee engagement survey and people practices assessment. Our proprietary framework the Trust Index© is used to conduct the employee engagement survey on the 5 dimensions of a great workplace – Fairness, Respect, Credibility, Pride and Camaraderie.

People practices implemented in your organization are assessed through the Culture Audit© process which covers 9 distinct practice areas of a great workplace culture. Business leaders and researchers rely on Great Place to Work® metrics — the Trust Index© Employee Survey and Culture Audit© to establish the standard that defines a great workplace.

After the assessment process is complete, if your organization meets the Certification criteria, your organization will be Certified as a Great Place to Work for a period of 1 year.
