Stress Busters

A 10 minute program often organized as at attempt towards stress buster. Employees are put in a dark chamber and a pre-recorded voice is being played which induces an amusing atmosphere. The 10 minutes laughter therapy is the all-time favorite for all Yashians.



Mommy & Beyond

Yash Technologies Pvt Ltd has introduced an all-inclusive initiative called “Mommy & Beyond Program” which is focused on providing a smooth transition to the expecting female employees helping them to have an enriching and enabling experience during and post pregnancy. A willing patron called “Angel” is selected who assists the expectant with all necessities during her motherhood journey at work. Once the woman returns to work, she is greeted with a silver spoon for the kid too! She is also given flexibility to leave early and take extra work from home till 60 days of her joining back.

1. What is your personal approach to making a Great Workplace?
My associates at YASH come from far and wide, bringing a slew of skills to the table. And that's the key that drives our business success every day. But I believe it’s my job as a leader to recognize and unlock each associate’s potential and give each associate an opportunity to play to his or her passions and take the lead in any specialty area. For this reason, I am personally working with various teams to ensure that every program at YASH, from rewards to learning & development, is tailored for and caters to each associate’s personal success and growth.

2. What are the top 2 benefits you see of creating a Great Workplace?
Our biggest benefit has been seeing our associates come into work every day happy, motivated and inspired to do their very best. It has also helped increase our retention rate because our Great Place to Work® stamp not only stirs up employee pride, it has increased trust and value for the organization prompting many associates to stick with us longer ensuring better business results and happier clients. Since we here at YASH work on the word-of-mouth model, having happy clients has led to more business, meaning many more projects and new clients.

This has led to our second biggest benefit since we started focusing on making YASH a Great Place to Work, an increase in the number of interested candidates. We have started to receive seven times more resumes for every job opening we have which means we have been able to widen our talent pool by leaps and bounds, thus giving us the opportunity to offer a wider variety of possibilities, through services and solutions, to our clients.

3. What are your top people priorities?
Our top people priority is to invest in our associates and inspire them on both personal and professional levels by transcending the dominant currents in our culture and building one where individual differences are nurtured, every bit of information is communicated, everyone goals and passions are aligned with that of the success of our organization and together we stand for something meaningful.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Our association with Great Place to Work® has not only helped increase customer satisfaction but revenue growth and it is not a coincidence. Thanks to Great Place to Work® we have been able to create a high trust culture that enables our associates to do their best work. When they do their best work, they deliver for clients, associates, team members, and shareholders. We have also been able to figure out how to unlock each person’s personal and professional goals and align it with the overall goal of our organization to create more value for our people as well.

1. What can your present and potential employees be sure of from a work culture perspective in the organization?
At YASH, we know how crucial it is for us to ensure that our people are happy. That is why we are constantly looking at ways to improve our culture and programs. However, there are two areas we promise, both current and potential associates, we will never abandon focus from. One is our focus to draw out and support people’s personal interests while giving them the platform to learn and grow professionally as well and the second is our rewards and recognition program because we know and understand the value of recognizing and rewarding hard work.

2. What, according to you, is a people challenge your industry is facing?
I think the biggest challenge many IT companies face today is letting their associates be themselves. They are constantly trying to accommodate differences, that they too often confine themselves to traditional diversity categories like gender, race, age, ethnicity, etc. These efforts are laudable, but associates are after something more subtle — differences in perspectives, habits of mind, and core assumptions. That is why at YASH, we make explicit efforts to transcend the traditional diversity categories and offer our associates more through our up-and-coming Internal Social Media – SAP JAM (the name is a work in progress). Through this portal, we want to provide our associates with a platform where they can connect with other like-minded individuals and build on their passions and interests.

3. How are you ensuring a consistent workplace experience FOR ALL your employees, irrespective of their role, age, gender, tenure etc. in the organization?
Young, old, male, female, fresher, experienced, no matter who it is at YASH we engage everyone by focusing on a variety of initiatives that cater to a variety of groups. The best way to ensure no one is left out is feedback. Through a number of surveys not only do we get to know what our associates want, but we also brainstorm, plan and execute the perfect program that fits their needs; by doing so we have been able to keep every associate engaged and happy.

4. How has your association with Great Place to Work® helped your business and strategic goals?
Great Place to Work® has been an invaluable source of information. Through their employee surveys, we have been able to weigh up a raft of criteria on salaries, benefits, leadership, personal growth and well being, ultimately revealing what our associates really care about at our workplace. Simply put, the better we were able to understand the elements that make a company a great place to work, the better we were able to make YASH a great place to work.

Once we changed our culture we experienced significant growth and success, because as they say “customers only come first if employees are happy and doing a good job”. Today we continue to focus on the satisfaction of our associates and we rely heavily on the Great Place to Work® Institute’s results to constantly better ourselves and stay ahead of the ever-changing tide of the corporate culture.
