

The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a global development organization working to address the root causes of poverty. For nearly 50 years, it has supported community institutions and locally driven initiatives that improve lives by promoting health, nutrition, quality education, livelihoods, and inclusive opportunities for women and youth. AKF also works with communities to respond to climate change and build resilience through innovative and sustainable solutions. In India, AKF began operations in 1978 and currently works in Bihar, Delhi, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh across rural and urban areas, reaching 3.9 million people in 1,635 villages and 93 urban wards, two-thirds of whom are women.
