Durga, a citizen sector initiative of I’m Every Woman Trust, was founded in 2013 to create inclusive public spaces for people of all intersectional identities. Using Theatre of the Oppressed, we build empathy and action among all users of public spaces, helping deter sexual harassment, violence, and gender-based discrimination. We offer experiential support and collaborate with government bodies, private unions, and educational institutions. Working directly with vulnerable communities in Bangalore, we empower them to recognize and address their own issues sustainably. Durga envisions safe, equal spaces for commute, leisure, and beyond—where everyone can participate freely and confidently.
