Fountainhead School is primarily an International Baccalaureate
(IB) World School, which means we follow the renowned IB framework for
education. However, we also offer a more flexible learning option for those who
prefer it. Here’s a simplified breakdown of the academic pathways we offer:
Early
Years (EY): The Early Years Programme at Fountainhead School provides
a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the holistic development
of young learners through a play-based, inquiry-driven approach to education.
Primary
Years Programme (PYP): After the early years, students enter the Primary Years
Programme, which is an IB framework-based curriculum. This program is designed
to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in your child.
Middle
Years Programme (MYP): After completing the PYP, students can transition to the
Middle Years Programme, which is another IB framework-based curriculum. This
stage builds on the foundation laid in the primary years and encourages deeper
exploration of subjects.
IB
Diploma Programme (IBDP): For students looking for a rigorous and
globally recognized qualification, the IB Diploma Programme is an excellent
choice. It’s a challenging two-year course that prepares students for higher
education and emphasizes critical thinking and research skills.
Mavericks
Learning Centre (MLC): For those looking for a different approach to education, we
have the Mavericks Learning Centre. Here, students engage in mixed-age,
experiential learning. This unique environment encourages independent thinking,
problem-solving, and creativity. It’s a bit like learning in an open and
flexible space.
Fountainhead
High School Diploma (FHSD): If your child opts for the Mavericks
Learning Centre or IB DP Course, they can be awarded the Fountainhead High
School Diploma. This diploma acknowledges their unique educational journey at
our school.
BTEC
Pearson-based Vocational Subjects: To further diversify their
education, students have the option to include BTEC Pearson-based vocational
subjects alongside the FHSD or IBDP. These vocational subjects provide
practical skills and knowledge that can be valuable in various careers.
It’s
important to note that these pathways are not fixed, and students have the
flexibility to transition between them as their interests and goals evolve. Our
goal is to ensure that your child’s education is tailored to their individual
needs and aspirations.
By
offering these various pathways, we aim to support your child in becoming
well-rounded, independent thinkers who are well-prepared for the future, no
matter what path they choose. We’re here to help your child find the right
academic journey that suits their unique strengths and passions.
