Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) was founded in 2015. We were born with a vision to address the learning crisis at scale. Our first 8-month professional development course for 200 teachers and teacher educators was launched in 2016. This was followed by the introduction of more distance learning courses for teacher and mentor professional development in the following years. In 2018, we launched district-level demonstration programmes which paved the way for India’s first domestic CSR-funded Development Impact Bond. It later expanded to 30 districts with a clear focus on learning outcomes.
