Business Description:Navkshitij (which means New Horizon) was established in 2003. The organization is committed to the rehabilitation of Mentally Challenged Friends (MCF). It includes a residential facility for mentally challenged adults, with separate hostel units for men and women. Through rehabilitating MCF, we rehabilitate their families.
There are 62 MCF at our two residential units in Marunji and Asawali. There are 52 Resident MCF in the Marunji unit and nine in the Asawali unit. There are eight Trustees and 41 staff members to help and support them.
The mission of Navkshitij is to create a world that offers mentally challenged friends (MCF) a life filled with happiness, dignity, warmth, excitement and joy and helps them be an accepted part of society, and where parents of adult MCF have the reassurance of seeing their wards leading their lives happily, and in this way motivate and empower other NGOs and parents to start many centres like Navkshitij, replicating the Navkshitij model.
Our goal is to give a happy, dignified, and enjoyable life to mentally challenged friends through achievement-oriented and fun-filled activities at Navkshitij, a home where the MCF will proud and happy to belong and to set up a replicable model of an ideal rehabilitation home for mentally challenged adults, which is MCF-friendly, eco-friendly, and not demanding on the budget.
