As a critical step towards contributing to the vision of Making India a Great Place to Work FOR ALL – Great Place to Work® India launched the Workplace Inclusion Index™. In the first year of its existence, the assessment represented the voice of over 1 lakh employees and spanned organizations that covered 11 different industries.

The eligibility criteria for this study was:

• Participating organizations have a minimum employee strength of 100.
• At least 10% employees belonged to historically excluded groups (HEGs)
  (HEGs include women, persons with disabilities, employees who have joined after a career break, LGBTQIA+ community, displaced persons, rescued survivors, ex-veterans, ex-sportspersons, other opportunity deprived communities and any other underrepresented groups.)

Organizations were then assessed basis inclusive practices, representation of historically excluded groups and consistency of workplaces experience between historically excluded and well-represented groups in the workplace. To arrive at India’s Best Workplaces in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, equal weightage was given to inclusive practices and consistency in employee feedback.
