CEAT Limited is a Great Place to Work-Certified™ organization. The company has created a Great Place to Work FOR ALL its employees by excelling on the 5 dimensions of a High-Trust, High-Performance Culture™ – Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride, and Camaraderie. Every year, Great Place to Work® identifies India's 100 Best Companies to Work For (with employee strength more than 500) through an objective and rigorous workplace culture assessment process.
Mumbai's head-quartered CEAT, the flagship company of the Rs 22,000-crore RPG Enterprises, was established in 1958. Today, CEAT is one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers and has a strong presence in global markets. CEAT produces over 15 million tyres a year and offers the widest range of tyres to all segments and manufactures world-class radials for heavy-duty trucks and buses, light commercial vehicles, earthmovers, forklifts, tractors, trailers, cars, motorcycles, and scooters as well as auto-rickshaws. CEAT claims its strength has been its people and that’s the only secret behind the miracle of being able to break its own records in the most unpredicted times. The People focus clearly stands out at CEAT, with ‘Caring’ being one of their 5 values. Even in tough times, Employees remained in the focus, and the People strategy shifted towards employee health, care, support, development, and staying agile to keep up with the continuous changes in external and work environments this year.
CEAT’s new work from home policy shatters the notion of traditional workspace and productivity and has turned it on its head. Employees who are not operating machines can work from 'anywhere' even after the pandemic is behind us. By way of this policy, the organization is encouraging employees to adopt new methods of working and thus improve their quality of life. CEAT’s believe that empowering employees by giving them a choice to work remotely from home or another location for a significant number of days in a month, will enhance employee efficiency and business output. Amongst early adopters of Blank Hour (1-2 p.m.) which is reserved for employees to have lunch with their families, Operational window (9.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.), and announcing a day off in July (Wellbeing Day) as a token of appreciation for all the effort put in by employees, CEAT set the path for many others to follow.
