With a fleet of more than 250 aircraft, DHL Express is also one of the largest air carriers worldwide and the largest express service provider in India. DHL Express actively encourages innovation, social responsibility, and ethical business practices, globally. DHL was significantly impacted by the pandemic. With over 100,000 in areas hard hit by COVID, they put their employee's safety first and ensuring every job was kept and that employees continued to be paid. DHL locations had to rapidly respond to the dramatic impacts to their business with a wide array of challenges from country lock-downs, grounded fleets to dramatic supply and demand fluctuations. The involvement of their CEO in key communications and visibility sent a clear message of care. Their devotion to their culture and to safety was remarkable. They supported the well-being of their employees and did a great job maintaining a collective organizational spirit and togetherness through this process.
Some of the Best People Practices and Initiatives at DHL Express India Private Limited include -
Employee Opinion Survey:
Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) is a unique process of giving feedback to the organization’s policies and practices straight up to the Board level. It’s feedback to all the managers and leaders; it is feedback to management from all the employees. The survey is conducted to listen to the “Voice of the Employee”, understand their concerns and proactively address their issues. The questions are designed to gauge the level of commitment and motivation among our employees. Action items are prepared through focus group discussions on areas of improvement by each function, location, unit and a strong follow up is done to make sure that the voice of employees is addressed.
Make your own Mask:
At a time when masks were in short supply in India, make your own masks campaign was launched with the aim to encourage employees to make their own mask at home and share the photographs with their teams. This initiative also boosted camaraderie.
