A 100% subsidiary of Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd. (SEML), SMAL was set up as a greenfield state-of-the-art complex near Vishakhapatnam, A.P, India in 2013-14 with 1 X 80 MW Captive Power Plant and 3 X 33 MVA Ferro Alloys Submerged Arc Furnaces. This unit is envisaged to become the most technologically advanced, sustainable and the largest single location Ferro Alloy complexes in India. SMAL has established itself as a system driven organization by getting certified from DNV.GL with ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 within a record period of 2 years from starting its production, recently obtained ISO 50001 certification.
